1. Symposium: SAMPE JAPAN
13th Japan International SAMPE Symposium & Exhibition (JISSE-13)

Every second year, the Japan Chapter of SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering), SAMPE Japan, holds “International SAMPE Symposium & Exhibition”. This year marks the 13th time in the running.
This international meeting is a combination of a symposium and exhibition. The exhibition, JISSE-13 showcase the latest advances in materials and processing engineering.
Advanced materials will be used in a diversity of fields, from aerospace to leisure, and are expected to dramatically contribute to solving global issues such as energy, IT and the environment.

2. GNI Event: Greater Nagoya Next Generation Industry Seminar

Greater Nagoya Initiative Center is holding the “Greater Nagoya Next Generation Industry Seminar” for the purpose of upgrading our growing industries holding “Japanese Manufacturing Skills” in the Greater Nagoya Area. We invite advanced research institutes in Europe and have presentations with the latest research results of CFRP and composite materials.

3. MOU Between National Composite Center and Fraunhofer ICT

The National Composite Center of Nagoya University has put in place a memorandum of understanding between Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (hereinafter referred to as “ICT”) with its principal office located at Joseph-von-Fraunhofer Strasse, Pfinztal, Germany.
Based on this memorandum, the organizations will exchange information to develop innovative technologies and foster human resource development in composite material-related fields.

4. Industry: Costco opens first location in Greater Nagoya

The Costco Wholesale Japan opened a new warehouse in Tokoname city, Aichi prefecture on August 30, 2013.
This is their first location in Greater Nagoya.
