1. GNI Event: GNI Singapore Clean Energy Mission

The Greater Nagoya Initiative will send a mission to Singapore and participate in an exhibition; Clean Energy Expo Asia 2011 taking place at the Suntec Singapore Convention Centre (Nov. 1–3). During our stay, with the cooperation and networks of the Singapore governmental and economic organizations, GNI will also visit International Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Economic Development Board, and Singapore Business Federation.

With a part of the activities, Greater Nagoya Initiative plans to participate in the Clean Energy Expo Asia 2011 taking place at the Suntec Singapore Convention Centre (Nov. 1–3) with local companies who have advanced technologies and interested in entering into business exchange with Singapore in the clean energy field.

   [Product]: New Energy Fuel; alternative boiler fuel, which is made by mixing heavy oil or kerosene with used vegetable oil.

   [Product]: Superheating Steam System (SSS) that can produce the Bio Diesel Fuel (BDF) directly without utilizing the conventional Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) method. etc.

The objective of this activity is to support global business alliance between overseas and Japanese companies and to support foreign direct investment.

2.  GNI Event: GNI Booths at Messe Nagoya 2011

The international cross-industrial trade fair, “Messe Nagoya 2011” will take place at Port Messe Nagoya from Nov. 9th (Wed) – 12th (Sat). “Messe Nagoya is a trade fair that promotes B-to-B exchanges for local SMEs in the Greater Nagoya region. Greater Nagoya Initiative will staff three booths to enhance business matching between non-Japanese companies who established their businesses in the region and local companies.
Many international organizations from various countries will attend the fair, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Poland, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. They will conduct their business-exchange activities in their own booths along with local companies.
GNI will conduct the activities as follow:
1) B-to-B matching supports
2) Provide regional information; various business events with in the region

Business: Metalworking, plastic molds, die-casting, consulting service, daily wholesale and retail sales.

3.  GNI Event: Composite Technology Seminar

Chubu Aerospace Technology Center (C-ASTEC) will hold the Composite Technology Seminar – Establishment of National Composite Centers in the U.K and Japan. In August 2011the National Composite Center is established near the University of Bristol, UK, and with the industry-university-government cooperation such as AIRBUS, Rolls-Royce, GKM and University of Bristol, the efforts towards improvement of technical standard in the composite material has been made. Speakers at the seminar will be Prof. Michael Wisnom from the University of Bristol and Prof. Kevin Potter of the Advanced Composite Center for Innovation & Science (ACCIS) who will give us an introduction on the Establishment of the Advanced Composite Center for Innovation and Science (ACCIS) in the UK. Related organizations in the Greater Nagoya hope that the Composite Technology Seminar can provide useful and effective information for people who are involved in research and development of composite materials.

4. Event: International Seminar on Foreign Direct Investment Mie Pref.

The Mie Prefectural Government is proud to host its annual seminar aimed at strengthening economic relations with international businesses and diplomatic missions. The seminar should provide an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about Mie and share and exchange information. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with Governor Suzuki and other attendees while enjoying cuisine made with foods produced in Mie.

5. Entertainment: The 6th Okazaki Jazz Street 2011

The 6th Okazaki Jazz Street 2011 is annual event held in Okazaki-city. There are many styles of jazz, including Dixie, Swing and Modern and various styles of musicians will perform in the Jazz Street.
