1. GNI Event: SYMPOSIUM Greater Nagoya @ Farnborough International Airshow (FIA)

The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA), an iconic global aerospace industry event will be held at Farnborough Airfield in Hampshire, England, July 9 – 15.
Greater Nagoya Initiative (GNI) will hold the “Symposium Greater Nagoya” – JAPAN AEROSPACE 2012 –” in UKTI Booth (Hall 1 B13) in July 9th 13:00-13:55 at the Air Show. The symposium will provide updated information about the Greater Nagoya region and offer current situation of the region’s aerospace industry.

2. Investment: Infosys Expands Operations in Greater Nagoya

June 25, 2012: Infosys, a global leader in consulting and technology, announced that it has opened a second office in the city of Nagoya in Japan. The office is located in the manufacturing hub of Greater Nagoya, and is expected to play a strategic role for Infosys’ business in Japan as the company aggressively pursues clients in the manufacturing domain.
Infosys has been present in Japan for the past 15 years and has over 1,000 employees working on different client projects in the country.

   Infosys Expands Operations in Japan

3. Investment: Mag-Isover K. K. Builds New Glass Wool Plant

Mag-Isover, K.K. the Japanese arm of leading French giant Saint-Gobain, headquartered in Tokyo, has formally announced plans to build a new glass wool plant in Tsu city, located in Greater Nagoya. This will be its fourth production site in Japan.
The company plans to start its operation mid-2014. It will be the largest glass wool residential insulation manufacturing facility in central and Western part of Japan. ISOVER brand offers features such as high-performance insulation, sound absorption, energy efficiency and air-tightness.

Mr. Francois-Xavier Lienhart, President of Mag-Isover K.K. introduced this new glass wool plant at SYMPOSIUM GREATER NAGOYA 2012 held in May 30th.

4. Event: Japan International Aerospace Exhibition 2012

The Japan International Aerospace Exhibition 2012 (JA2012) will be held in Greater Nagoya from October 9th – 14th, 2012.Greater Nagoya is Asia’s largest aerospace industrial manufacturing region. It is anticipated that JA2012 exhibition will bring together a wide range of people from the aerospace industry, including engineers, researchers, production managers, representatives of procurement divisions, and managers in charge of planning and strategy.

Greater Nagoya Initiative will set a booth to promote the region’s aerospace companies, especially focusing on medium and small sized enterprises.

5. Program: GNI Business Start-up Support Program 2012FY

Greater Nagoya Initiative will offer business start-up support for foreign -affiliated companies when firms plan to advance their business in the Greater Nagoya region.

1. Applicant:
An applicant will be a foreign-affiliated company who plans to advance its business in the Greater Nagoya region.

2. Targeted Expenses:
[1] Costs of procedural requirements for establishing the company in the Greater Nagoya area.
[2] Expenses necessary for personnel recruitment, brokerage costs for leasing office, market relevance etc. research expenses, consultant fee for the market research etc.
*In the case of establishing an R&D center, even if the company doesn’t register, GNI will offer incentives in the expenses described in [2] when the Greater Nagoya Initiative (GNI) members decide that the company is beneficial to the region.

3. Total Amount of Incentives:

Up to 500,000 yen / company
2. – [2] Expenses for personnel recruitment, brokerage costs of an office, or market research etc.
Up to 500,000 yen / company
