Softpia Japan is working to realize an advanced information society. In this connection we concentrate on four key areas with a view to establishing a leading IT town for the 21st century. These four are: 1) research and development for creating a new business model encompassing industry, academia and government and including everything from basic IT research to development of applications, 2) personnel development with the objective of educating and securing highly specialized IT professionals for companies and local areas, 3) advancement of industry via IT to achieve the creation of new business and computerization of existing industry, and 4) support for computerization of local areas using advanced technology.
