Shinhodaka Ropeway is 70 minutes by bus from Takayama City and located in the North Japanese Alps, a Japanese high mountain range designated as the Chubu Sangaku National Park and the location of the Okuhida Hot-Spring Village (Shinhodaka Hot-Spring). The ropeway’s total track length is 3,200 meters. Two rides are offered: one a gondola with a capacity of 44 people, and the other, Japan’s first two-story gondola, with a capacity of 120 people. A magnificent panoramic view of the North Alps can be enjoyed from the 2,200-meter summit all through the year. Adjacent to Shinhodaka Ropeway is Hotel Hotaka with hot-spring baths, ideal for enjoying the four seasons of the North Alps.
