1. GNI Event: Japan Aerospace Industry Forum 2010; Boeing Seminar
The Japan Aerospace Industry Forum (JAIF), American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ), and Greater Nagoya Initiative Center (GNIC) would like to cordially invite you to a business event “Aerospace Industry Forum 2010” for aerospace industry professionals in the Greater Nagoya region.
It will follow presentations by top Boeing executives Mr. Randy TINSETH, Vice President, Marketing, for Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Mr. Michael DENTON, President of Boeing Japan.

Mr. Randy TINSETH will give a presentation on the 20-year forecast called Current Market Outlook. Mr. Michael DENTON, on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Made with Japan. At the end, Mr. Mike Wright, MRJ Program Manager, Pratt & Whitney, and Chair of the ACCJ-Chubu Aerospace & Defense Subcommittee, will also say a few remarks about the mission of his Subcommittee.

2. Event: APEC JAPAN 2010 SME Ministerial Meeting
The APEC Symposium on Small and Medium Enterprises Strategy for Reinvigorating Economic Growth with Dual Engine: SME and Asia-Pacific symposium will bring together ministers; academic scholars with cutting-edge knowledge from various fields, including Professor AnnaLee Saxenian of University of California at Berkeley, prominent for her works on networks and clusters and entrepreneurs who have successfully internationalized their business activities, to discuss economic growth and SMEs in the Asia-Pacific region. The major points of discussion will be:

(1) Post-crisis growth strategies and start-ups/new businesses
(2) Effects of international business activities such as trade, investment, and labor mobility on SMEs
(3) Strengthening the institutional basis for facilitating international business activities and economic cooperation

This symposium will provide a valuable opportunity for those involved in the management, policy administration, or research of SMEs to examine the pressing challenges they face from a broad array of perspectives. We look forward to your participation.

APEC SME Products International Fair provides an opportunity to find a variety of products and services from APEC countries.

4. Culture: Second-hand English Book Store, Mondo Books
Greater Nagoya’s “bigger and better than ever” second-hand English book store is located in the Osu district about a year ago. Currently the store carries more than 3,000 books in English, and other languages.
