Founded in 1964, Nagoya International School (NIS) is a private, coeducational day school offering an American curriculum educational program from preschool through grade 12. NIS is fully accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and graduates earn a standard U.S high school diploma. All instruction is in English. Students come from over 20 countries and the average class size is under 20 students. NIS follows a U.S. school calendar, with the first semester running from September to January and the second semester running from February to June. Students are accepted at any time during the school year. Admissions to any NIS program are based primarily on English language ability, the educational needs of the student and space availability.
